Welcome to our carp fishing lake in France - Etang La Maîtresse (the mistress).

Etang La Maîtresse is a mature 4.75 acre lake with full vehicular access all around the lake.  Fishing is from purpose built level swims around a peninsula giving maximum coverage of the water which makes for great social fishing.

The depth of the lake varies from around four feet to eleven feet. There are many features such as bars, gullies, plateaus, hard and silt areas. Around the lake are overhanging trees to fish to and plenty of good stalking areas.  There is a rowboat available and bait boats are permitted. In 2003 one and a half tons of mirror carp and common carp to 40lb+ were stocked to compliment the existing stock.

In addition, a few small catfish were introduced and these have more than doubled their weight in under a year, such is the good natural quality of the water.  Grass carp to over 25lb have been caught in the 2005 season.  The lake also features the usual zander, pike, perch, tench and silver fish.  We are pleased to inform you that there are no crayfish or poisson chats! We can supply prepared particle baits if required.
